Learn About Our Journey to Dog Training
About Us
We have been married for 28 years and call Morgan County home. Together, we have built a training program centered around foundational obedience for dogs.
Our journey began 25 years ago when we welcomed our first Vizsla into our lives. Little did we know that this decision would spark a passion for helping dog owners develop a deeper understanding of their canine companions. Through this experience, we learned how to create a strong, positive relationship between humans and dogs, ultimately leading to better behavior and obedience.
Our introduction to dog training took off when we decided to enter our Vizsla into the competitive field trial sport for pointing breeds. We quickly realized that success in any dog sport starts with a solid foundation in obedience and a strong desire to work for the handler. With our natural competitive spirit, we dedicated ourselves to training, and our hard work paid off.
Our foundation Vizsla, Duke, became a decorated champion, earning a National Champion title and producing many successful winners. Over the years, we achieved great success with several of our Vizslas, including Lotto—also a National Champion and a top producer—along with Hoosier, Jetta, and others.
What began as a hobby quickly turned into a full-time career. We started by promoting and training Vizslas in the field trial sport, working with client-owned dogs to help them reach their full potential. As we refined our training methods, we began accepting dogs into our 30-day board and train program, and word quickly spread about our success. We haven’t looked back since.
Seven years ago, Michael transitioned from his career in environmental health and safety to join me in training full-time. Today, our board and train program is a private, personalized experience at our home. Once your dog is booked for training, we will provide our address and ask that all clients respect scheduled drop-off times to ensure a smooth transition for each dog in our care.
We are passionate about helping dogs and their owners build a lasting bond through obedience and trust. We look forward to working with you and your four-legged friend!
